Preparations are underway by Uganda Embassy, Havana to celebrate Uganda´s 62nd Independence day anniversary at Hotel Melia La Habana.
Uganda Embassy Havana will today, 25th November, 2024 celebrate Uganda´s 62nd Independence day anniversary at Hotel Melia La Habana. The celebration provides an opportunity to showcase Uganda´s history as a nation but also the vast potential and opportunities Uganda has to offer the world especially in the sectors of tourism, trade, culture, investment, and also promote Uganda´s image in Cuba.

The Embassy of Uganda in Havana, Cuba calls upon all Ugandans who are in Cuba to participate in the inaugural Ministry of Foreign Affairs Diaspora Convention to be held between 18th to 21st December 2024 in Kampala Uganda under the theme: "Diaspora for Social Economic Development "
The Embassy of Uganda in Havana held a meeting with Ms. Tania Aguiar Fernandez, the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Cuba.
The meetings discussed issues of bilateral interest to Uganda and Cuba
H.E Ambassador Elizabeth Musazi, Uganda's Ambassador to Cuba, led a Ugandan delegation to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and International Investment of the Republic of Cuba.
The Ugandan delegation included Amb. Elly Kamahungye, Director Regional and International Economic Coperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs-Kampala, Mr. Herbert Kiguli, Commissioner, Human Resource Management at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ms. Joy Nandhego, Second Secretary and Accounting Officer at the Embassy.
To support Uganda’s strategic objectives and alignment of the Mission’s activities to the Fourth National Development Plan (NDP IV), Uganda Mission, Havana, is currently undergoing a capacity-building retreat to enhance staff capabilities and operational effectiveness. This initiative focuses on Commercial and Economic Diplomacy, Human Resource Management, Planning and Budgeting, website management and other IT related issues as well as HIV/AIDS and Gender Mainstreaming, ensuring that the Mission staff are well-equipped to promote and protect Uganda’s interests in Cuba.
Today, 8th November 2024, Mr. Madaraka Nyerere, Chairman of Culture and Development East Africa, and son of the late Mwalimu Julius Nyerere (former President of the United Republic of Tanzania), paid a courtesy call to Uganda Embassy, Havana.
